The extra RMR-threaded holes are simply unused when you mount an adapter plate.
• Rear sight position: On many P320 Compact optics-ready slides the rear sight sits in its own dovetail behind the cut, so it stays in place when you remove the cover plate. Other P320 families combine the rear sight with the cover. If your Compact slide does lose the rear sight with the cover, look for plates with an integrated rear sight or rear-dovetail solution in the product description.
